Yeah, ….I watch “The Bachelor”..and love it!

Yep~!! Been followin’ Ol’ Jake on his journey to find a wife~!! Now, if you have followed The Bachelorette, then you would know that Jake was eliminated in that race and they chose him for The Bachelor, On the Wings of Love…(((As Jake is a commercial pilot)))…

The series is now at the point that Jake has narrowed his “groupies” down to 4~!! So, tonight is the “HOMETOWN SHOWDOWN”~!!! Jake will leave his sanctuary of Los Angeles to travel to the homes of the 4 girls and be “grilled” by their families, especially the Fathers~!!…..We will be watching the girl called “TENLY”, as she is from a town in Oregon that we lived in, Newburg, Oregon….

Oh, lots of people scoff at watching reality shows, but it is just fun to watch people and their reactions after they have opened up their lives for TV and watch the outcome of the pursuit!!…….Also, tonight’s show advertised that there would be NO “rose ceremony”…..The show this year has certainly had some strange and different happenings~!!

*SIGH*…….Yes, we LOVE all reality…..Especially “Survivor”, and look forward to the “Heroes vs Villains” coming up this week…..And, “The Amazing Race”, soon to be on the tube~!!

Super Bowl Friday~!!

Ahhhh, yes~!! SAINTS made it to the Ol’ SUPER BOWL~!!
Now, let’s hear a big “Who Dat?”~!!!!

As Sports Pundants and TV Talking Heads ramble on about the Sunday happenings, most American familes are shopping for the “just right” snacks to be at chairside for the football event of the season!! Dads are voting for chili and hot dogs, maybe a coupla’ hoagies, and plenty of cold beer to wash it down….Kids are wantin’ chips, popcorn, ding-dongs, and pop!!!…..Moms are just wanting to keep the living room carpet clean from unwanted spills!

The New Orlean Saints, of course being the Underdog, seem to be the fans favorite!!….First trip to the Super Bowl, bypassing Katrina and the memories of the “Aint’s” and the “Bag-headed fans”, since they began in 1967. It became a strong team from castoffs from other teams, to now comes face-to-face with the seasoned Colts!!!

With the tossing of the coin, the fly-over of the jets, networks will parade there 30 minutes of commercials sprinkled amidst 60 minutes of game time. The 2.65 million dollar averaged commercials are some of the most watched during the year! But, should you miss one as you saunter towards the Chex Mix, you will see them ad nauseum for the next few days!!!

With two high-powered offenses, two league leading Quarterbacks, then it should be exciting, (for some of us, huh?)……..HAVE FUN!!!

How special to have someone sit at your humble table, …..selecting YOUR house as the meeting place for in-depth conversation….sharing a bit of the “bubbly” and talking til dawn!

Having this in mind, wouldn’t it be MARVELOUS if we could invite TWO of our FAVORITE people to join us, —-Living or dead??????

For instance, if I had my druthers, I would invite Robin Williams , who I believe is the funniest, “nut case” alive!! Whatta’ blast that would be!!…Chaos but laughter!…..Danger with a knife and fork~!!

On a more serious side, the Dalai lama…..to absorb his thoughts on Life and Death and all that is in-between!……To learn of his philosophies and teachings,….his innermost thoughts….Such a peaceful gift to talk about the “roof of the world”…..

OOOOps….!! Today is Words Thursday~!!

HI, BLOGGING BUDDIES~!!! Yep, today is Words Thursday, (Just a day late!)

Yesterday, life happenings and poor broadcasting frequency delayed WW to today!!

So——I was thinking about my Bucket List and how I want to accomplish, go places, see new things, just go for the ADVENTURE~!! Adventure can mean many things to all of us….Perhaps, just venturing outside our front door could be an adventure to many that suffer from agoraphobia, a condition that I had at one time….Or, it could simply mean just a jaunt to another town in your state with a good friend for the day…..BUT—-perhaps adventure to you means an “Indiana Jones” type of adventure! One that would be a secret desire of yours!!

Tell me about your thoughts on what YOUR adventure would surely be!!!
The phrase….”MY IDEA OF AN ADVENTURE IS_________________”

MY idea of adventure would be a very nice, self-contained RV, and the open road! The possibilities would be ENDLESS! A new “podunk” town each day, meeting new people, visiting landmarks, reading the small-town newspaper, …..then a quiet campfire supper at sunset….Ahhhhhh, wouldn’t get any better than that!

P.S. I’m thinking a day with ol’ Indiana would be an adventure!

“BUNDLE, BUNDLE, who’s got the bundle???

INDEED…..BUNDLES galore out in the Blogosphere~!!

Wanting to find the “JUST RIGHT” craft to jump into, I ran across the FUN adventure of making an EROSION BUNDLE~!! It came about while visiting my friend’s blog… DoreenG’s Creative Meanderings , and I was on the hunt for my “stuff”~!!

These are the scraps that I gathered and had fun finding items to bundle up!! It is a project in which you gather some of your favorite articles into a bundle, wrap and tie it up, and place it where MOTHER NATURE can touch it and be gifted with a surprise for an Art Project later in the year~!! SO, this weekend I gathered what I thought would be a fun bundle, and here are the contents….

THEN…..I decided to hang it where I could keep an eye on it ((and the squirrels))….and chose the seedling branches from a tree that we made into a small ‘island’ place in the yard….

Here it will get the full force of the rain…..and ……the warmth and sunshine to dry it up…..

I shall be anxious to open it when the time comes and see if there are any changes on the white cloth….
SHOULD BE FUN~!!!

Welcome back to “WORDS WEDNESDAY”, where I would love for you to take the word or word phrase and give your thoughts in a blog comment….

Even in the “rush around” daily routine, there is that part of us that gnaws and pulls at us to CREATE!! Be it painting, writing, quilting, graphic arts, sketching, decorating, music, singing, or just arranging that favorite collection “just right”!! This word for the topic came from a read of Rae’s blog this morning where she shared her artistic works with her readers….It is a must see!

Also, I have to brag on my Son’s Tracy Hall’s 3D and digital art !! My dear DIL expresses herself through traditional and art quilting at her Sweetpeaz blog. Over at Janet’s art blog, she is doing beautiful journal pages….
So, the possibilities are endless!!….

Sneaky Stalkers….WHAT???

Recent visits to some of my Blog Buddies, have brought to light the instances of BLOG STALKERS~!! ……What on Earth would possess some EX….some EX In-Law….some EX friend that was “ticked off” to become a BLOG STALKER????

In one instance, the Blogger had the capacity to know the time that they came to her blog and how many times~!!…UNREAL~!! Let’s face it, when you become an EX anything, then REALIZE that~!!….You are NO longer a part of that person’s life OR blog! By your actions, the Blogger has chosen to separate themselves from you and your nuisance self~!! Then when the STALKER has the audacity to COMMENT……Well, pfttttttttt~!!

If you are UNHAPPY with the gist of being out of their lives, then don’t show your ignorance to show up and PROVE it~!!……((((What a bunch of dumbells~!!)))…

When time allows, let me know what you think about this “blog phenomenen”~!! And, to think about all the TROUBLE TO RELOCATE…..Outrageous!

Been a while since the holidays, but let’s get back into the swing of things~!!
There is nothing like the “pick-me-up” of a great cup of coffee….Whether it be blog-hopping or just sitting with an afghan and an interesting book…
Alongside breakfast, with that salad luncheon, that afternoon power bar snack, or complimenting dinner~!!

We all have our favorites….Mine has always been a HOT cup of BLACK coffee~!!!

SO—-Today’s phrase is “MY FAVORITE WAY TO ENJOY COFFEE AND FAVORITE FLAVOR IS______”

Another “GOAL” for 2010, ….Self Esteem

This year, I have to boost my OWN SELF-ESTEEM~!!! Unfortunately, with weight gain, I have lost some of that strength of “myself”, along with other items of set-backs….

I need to nourish my thoughts with dealing with my weight, no matter what the scale reveals….And, hopefully, if/when the weight goes to the ozone, I can begin to build up my self-image again. Seems that obese peeps have been thrown a slam-down at all venues!! One being the clothing industry….REALLY NOW??? I have been appalled at the styles that have been hung upon the racks for ample women! Most of the shirts/blouses are patterned in floating “maternity” flares that makes a belly look like 9 months! Being dismayed with fashion has also helped with the new weight management regime that I have embarked upon….So, in the iterim, I must steer my thoughts to the idea that as long as it is clean, my color, and covers “the multitude of sins”, then I will wear it! JUST A GOAL!
Then, there is the issue of “I HATE MY HAIR”!! Another issue for my age bracket, as it is gray,….(why not?)…and it is long and with no style….*sigh*…Some of the people I meet say, ” Um, have you ever had your hair styled?”….(Nice, huh?)
It then takes me to the GOAL of working with the gray hair that I have and doing the best that I can with it, and save for my spiral perm~!

I need to pamper MYSELF more~!! I need to “gift” myself with something each day, week, and month to tell ME that I am worth it…..Self-Esteem pride is a commodity hard to come by for me…Hopefully, it will happen and I can then feel good about me….I began this weekend by programming the DVR to some “chick flicks” to watch with a cup of tea, a warm afghan, and follow up with a nap!

I feel that I will succeed! Just need a little help from my friends~!

About “paying it forward”….

…..Paying it forward is key to me these days….especially with others being laid off and losing their homes. Hard times are here….Paying it forward is like ripples upon the pond—outreaching, extending….

As I wrote about at Christmas time, my three friends and I decided to “make our Christmas” as helping out families in need…..We made stockings for ages 2 to 14 filled with stocking stuffers items for Metropolitan Family Services here in Portland for their Christmas store with donations…..Along with those stockings, we also gathered food for a food basket for a single Mom with 5 kiddos….She had been laid off from her job, needed car repairs, and after information about the family, we chose to help….It actually was a great project~!! It was fun to shop, fun to grocery shop, and one Sunday we met and compiled and wrapped the goodies~!!!

That was sort of a ‘bigger’ pay it forward, but the smaller ones are highly important to me as well……
Just like “letting cars out of driveways into traffic”….One of my habits. One that I like when ((( I ))) want out into traffic….Even opening doors impress me from others, so I return that favor……But, now I’m ready to try and DO and FIND ways to pay it forward…..
